One of my favorite ways to connect with my family is in the kitchen with good food. The best day in my opinion is when my calendar is clear and I can prepare yummy things that make my family happy when they get home. It seems to make them linger longer around the island rather than just pass on through. We eat mostly gluten free and often paleo which makes it hard to please everyone but these recipes below are fan favorites and I can’t make them often enough! Try them out on your family this week as you gather in your kitchen together.

These cupcakes are fabulous without icing too… but then they are called muffins! Most icing is gluten free or you can make the paleo version from the cookbook. I use store bought cream cheese or lemon frosting.
I literally can.not.make.these.fast.enough!
Ok… give these a try… I was doubtful… but when I make these they are gone before the family gets 10 feet through the back kitchen door. And they are protein packers! the link is for Tuna, but we make them with store bought hardboiled eggs and canned chicken, and relish!

Who doesn’t love a sloppy Joe? They are received with fist pumps and high fives around here. To make things easier on yourself, buy onions and carrots pre diced or use a small food processor. Often I make this ahead of time and then put it in the crock pot until dinner time.
“Full strength” pumpkin cookies with real flour and sugar! Passed down from my mom (and maybe her mom) they are a holiday favorite and the family insisted I share this recipe with you. You can make them with chocolate chips for a yummy variation.
Let them praise the Lord for his great love
and for the wonderful things he has done for them.
For he satisfies the thirst
and fills the hungry with good things.
